Can Elevate simulate destination control and conventional control operating on the same floor?

No. Elevate does not simulate destination control, with up/down landing buttons, and conventional control operating simultaneously on the same floor.

Although such a system is technically possible, it creates a significant passenger-behaviour problem. Conventional control requires a car operating panel (COP) with buttons for passengers to select their destination after boarding. Consequently, a passenger assigned a specific elevator by destination control could instead board another elevator that arrives sooner and select their floor using its COP.

This would result in the originally assigned elevator making unnecessary stops for a passenger who did not board.

In a hybrid installation where destination control is provided at one floor and conventional landing buttons are used only on other floors, this problem can sometimes be mitigated by disabling the COP buttons until the elevator reaches a conventionally controlled floor. That mitigation is not practical when both interfaces are available on the same floor, because passengers responding to conventional landing calls must have immediate access to the COP.

Restricting destination control to a specific group, such as staff, does not remove this fundamental conflict. Destination assignments cannot be reliably enforced, so the resulting false stops would undermine performance.

For these reasons, Elevate does not offer this configuration as a simulation option, and Peters Research would not recommend it as a practical control solution.
