This function is only implemented for the Destination Control (ACA) dispatcher (and for thyssenkrupp TWIN where permission to access this feature has been granted).
Exclusive groups are used in some destination control systems where passengers are only allowed to share an elevator with people in their own group.
Example applications include:
- Where two companies share the same elevator group, but do not want to travel together;
- Mixed-use buildings, e.g. where a hotel and office share the same lift group;
- Residential buildings where the elevator doors open into the apartment.
It is possible to keep the passenger groups completely separated if the different exclusive groups have different entrance floors, or if the exclusive groups use front and rear openings on the same floor. Otherwise, the passengers may share the same lobby area but travel separately.
Passengers will present a security card or similar to the destination input terminal which will tag their destination call to belong to a specific exclusive group. The dispatcher then makes its allocation while ensuring that the exclusive groups never share an elevator.
In Elevate, to assign a group of passengers to an exclusive group, add the ExclusiveGroup=n directive to the notes column in Advanced Passenger Data, where n is the number of the Exclusive Group. There is no practical limit to the number of groups, e.g. n = 1, 2, 3, 4...
It does not matter where the exclusive group directive is within the notes column, e.g. "Company A Passengers, ExclusiveGroup=1".
WARNING! The use of Exclusive groups reduces handling capacity and can have a major impact on quality of service. Try running this example, and then re-running it after removing the ExclusiveGroup directives in Advanced Passenger Data.
